About
I’m an internet programmer working in Ireland, and this is my record of my day-to-day work and stuff I learn and think about as I’m doing it.
I’ve been coding for a living since 1996 (started off writing test scripts for jet engine software) and working on the internet since 2000. My primary platform is php/mysql, and I’ve worked on all the usual suspects like shopping carts, CMSs, CRUD applications, hacking osCommerce, joomla, CMS Made Simple and MODx. These days I mostly use Zend Framework for new development.
I never studied computer science and never learned a language for fun (except BASIC on a Commodore 64 as a child), so I’m not a real geek, but I make up for my lack of “passion” with lots of experience.
(I also run a specialist kids music shop online, in case you’re interested)
